Centurion Poultry, Inc. (CPI) maintains Grand Parent (GP) breeding stock at the Baronel farm near the Corporate headquarters.
The farm is deliberately located in a very isolated area with maximum bio-security because of the high value of the genetic stock at this location.
The offspring of the birds from this farm are called Parent Stock (PS). They are either sold to our Distributors in the USA, Canada and Mexico, or kept on Company owned - or contract farms at various locations in the US.
The fertile eggs produced from these Parent Stock are either processed, packed in cases, sealed and shipped for export and to other domestic users, or kept for our own use to produce Commercial Layer chicks. In turn the Commercial layer Chicks (CS) are sometimes exported but generally sold to egg laying operations in the US for the purpose of producing eggs in various forms ( so called shell eggs in cartons, liquid eggs or even dried egg powder)
Before we deliver the Commercial Layer chicks to our customers, the fertile eggs are hatched at one of our hatcheries. To avoid long transit time for the baby-chicks, CPI operates and contracts chick hatcheries in several strategically located States to ensure all our chicks can be delivered to the customers' farms within 24 hours of hatching.
CPI uses its own fleet of specially constructed chick transportation trailers to deliver the baby-chicks to their customers. The trailers are acclimatized and designed to hold comfortably over 100,000 baby-chicks at very constant temperatures and regulated supply of fresh air.
Centurion Poultry, Inc. is allied with Hendrix Poultry Breeders as their North American Distributor of genetic products.
The products CPI sells are mainly marketed under the Bovans®, DeKalb® and Hisex® brands, either as white egg - or as brown egg birds. Some of the products CPI produces are specialty breeds for designer products favored by certain ethnic - and other members of our society.
